Is the Chromebook’s ChromeOS a competitor for Android in the future?

Chromebooks are laptops which work on Google Apps. Many government agencies are now switching to Google Apps from Micrfosoft Office because of its library lending programs but many of them have apprehensions to adopt it because of its security purpose. Although Google have released Google Apps for Governments which assures to live up to the security needs of several vital departments of a government. Beside this, Chrome laptops are easy to use and handle, they are easy to carry and now they are getting cheaper day by day. Word processing can also be done in these Google laptops using Google Docs.

Now let us see laptops which are designed specially to work with Chrome as the operating system and by taking the advantage of the cloud computing system. One of the biggest plus point of a chromebook is that it can start working within just 10 seconds and if it is put to sleep then it will start working within the blink of an eye. So here one will not have to sit long for the laptop to start working.  Chrome laptops provide cloud computing operating system which provides security against any sort of viral threat which may enter from the internet.

Will the Android kill the Google Laptop?

There are people think or consider that Chrome Operating System do not have enough vision and will be killed or merged with Android by Google. Now this idea is completely wrong because of many reasons. Discussions arose about what was the need for Google to use two operating systems when Android can be used successfully on a laptop while Chrome Operating System can run on any tablet. However, both these operating systems have separate purposes and are needed separately, one cannot replace the other.

Android is designed for smartphones and tablets where the device is more concentrated towards the dialer facility, and to suit the specific needs of a phone-based device. On the other hand, Chrome OS for Google laptops is designed specifically for laptops, which are most likely to be used for more varied purposes that just a smartphone. It is a different concept together, where the browser takes the centerstage by being the control panel of all other applications.

Moreover, Chromebooks is based on the concept of cloud computing – which is different from the Android system, where the device memory is the center of all resource allocation. The Chromebook operating system is a complete Google product, where the idea is to change the way personal computing is perceived by the general public.

Google has the perfect idea of how devices should be perceived by people – and different operating systems would help in keeping smartphones and notebooks from merging into one all-important device.
